The tour starts from the centre of the old town, the “Cerciz Topulli Square” and heads towards the “Old Bazaar”. Although no longer a bustling market, this area is the first neighbourhood outside the walls of the castle and lies beneath the Castle walls. The characteristic cobblestone and some of the oldest houses are the most beautiful elements of this neighbourhood.
After passing the “Zerzebili” bridge, you'll reach another ancient neighbourhood in town called “Cfaka”. Here you'll pass some old houses which are in the first monument category, and also a tekke which belongs to the Bektashi Order. The journey offers a delightful mix of nature, hilltop sheep, and vintage houses before reaching the final destination, the "Ali Pasha Bridge". This bridge is a relic of the aqueduct which Ali Pashe Tepelena built more than 200 years ago to bring water to the castle. The whole trip takes approximately 3 hours, and you should be prepared to walk on a not so comfortable terrain. So put on your sneakers and join this nostalgic journey back in time.
