The reserve covers about 1,000 hectares of land, consisting of large white pools used for the "cultivation" of salt, inhabited by many species of birds such as the avocet, the elegant pink flamingo, the gull and other varieties of migratory birds. Use binoculars to see the wild animals living in this place. The windmills, symbol of the reserve, were once used for salt processing.
