Enjoy the magic of Vienna before Christmas. In the hometown of Sisi and Franz Joseph you will visit some of the most beautiful Christmas markets – a tradition for almost 300 years - and the most important places in the city center of Vienna. The tour ends at Schönbrunn Palace with some mulled wine or punch or a mug of hot chocolate. On this tour we will not only bring history back to life, but you will also feel like a Viennese for a few hours with your guide, making new friends and walking around winterly Vienna, drinking Punch. Don’t forget to try some hot Maroni, Kartoffelpuffer or sausages!
Your walking tour will begin at our meeting point in front of the Albertina museum, next to the State Opera House (Staatsoper). During our tour we will see Saint Stephen’s and the Christmas Market next to the Cathedral, famous for its local products. Along the Graben and its pedestrian area, we will pass by the stalls, that offer mulled wine or punch. We will proceed to Kohlmarkt and Michaelerplatz where another traditional Christmas Market is located. Enjoy the smell of gingerbread and mulled wine and the view of the Hofburg, as the background of the market. The former imperial residence was the home of the imperial family, of Sisi and Franz Joseph. Continuing to Herrengasse, we will pass Café Central and arrive at Freyung square, where another traditional Christmas Market can be found.
At the University we will take the subway to go to Schönbrunn Palace. The palace is a magnificent scenery for one of the most famous Christmas Markets in Vienna. The tour ends with a hot drink, mulled wine or punch.
