Things to do in Vladivostok

Vladivostok is well known for being the end station of the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is no coincidence that the railway goes to this unique place. Vladivostok was built in the mid of the 19th century and was the Russian naval base of the Pacific ocean. Vladivostok is almost 10 000 km away from Moscow, on the coastline opposite to Japan. Vladivostok, “the ruler of the East”, has grown in the last years and besides being located at a perfect strategic point, it is also very interesting from a touristic point of view: The beautiful diverse landscapes, the friendly locals and the special atmosphere, a town which mirrors different eras of the past on the coast of the Pacific, the tasty food and much more will convince you, that it is more than worth it to plan some days here to visit. If you are not arriving by train, don’t miss the chance to take a ride on the Trans-Siberian Railway, even if just for a half an hour. Visit a dacha in the surrounding areas, discover Russky island with Cape Tobizina, get impressed by the white sandy beaches and the picturesque views. By visiting the sights of the city, make sure you include a visit in the submarine museum as well. After the discoveries, fill your stomach with the specialities of the region: seafood, giant crabs and Soviet-era candies, sometimes with a korean influence: a unique culinary experience.
