Explore Armenia’s spiritual and historic landmarks on a day trip to Khor Virap, Echmiadzin, and Zvartnots.
The tour begins at Khor Virap Monastery, where you’ll enjoy stunning views of biblical Mount Ararat. This sacred site is where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned and where Christianity first took root in Armenia.
Next, you'll visit Echmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Built in the early 3rd century BC, it is considered the oldest officially recognised Christian church in the world.
You’ll also see the Church of St. Hripsime, dedicated to one of the 40 virgins who escaped the Roman Empire. Its remarkable architecture has remained largely intact and influenced many Armenian churches.
The day concludes at the ruins of Zvartnots Temple, a rare three-storied circular domed structure. Its name means “a host of angels,” reflecting its sacred purpose and unique architectural design.
