Foodies and forest lovers, this Zanzibar tour is for you. This full-day private outing shines a spotlight on the island's only national park, Jozani Chwaka National Park, before stopping by a rural farm to learn all about Zanzibar's spicier side.
Your day kicks off at your hotel, where your guide will pick you up. You'll then head to Jozani Chwaka National Park for a morning exploring the area. Your guide will lead you through the greenery on an easy-going guided trek, telling you all about the local wildlife along the way. This place is home to bush babies, butterflies and over 160 bird species, so you've got a really good chance of seeing some of the locals in their natural habitat. The main stars here, though, are the red colobus monkeys. These rare, endangered primates are usually spotted swinging around the treetops, so keep your eyes peeled.
When you're done here, there's an hour's free time scheduled. Then, you'll drive to a nearby spice farm for a tour of the grounds. Pepper, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla and more are grown here, and you'll be able to see how they're harvested a processed – don't worry, you can sample some, as well.
