Un poco de historia
Set on a rocky headland along Spain’s Costa Cálida, Cabo de Palos is a small fishing town known for its clear waters, seafood restaurants and laidback coastal atmosphere. Watched over by its historic lighthouse, the harbour remains closely tied to the sea, with fishing boats, diving centres and waterfront terraces shaping daily life. Despite its modest size, Cabo de Palos has earned an international reputation for the rich marine life found just offshore.
You can stroll around the marina, swim in sheltered coves, or join boat trips and diving excursions to the nearby Islas Hormigas marine reserve, one of the Mediterranean’s most respected dive sites. Beneath the surface, reefs and underwater rock formations attract groupers, barracudas, rays and even occasional loggerhead turtles. The lighthouse at Cabo de Palos rises more than 50 metres above sea level and is still active today, guiding boats along this stretch of coastline.
