There's no shortage of spectacular scenery on this tour taking in two magical lakeside towns. You'll set out from Lake Como to cross the border into Switzerland where you'll take a boat to Lugano. Once you have enjoyed the serene lakeside promenades and the sophisticated shopping here, we'll return to Como for a look around the historic lakeside city.To begin with you'll transfer to Gandria where you'll hop onboard a boat to continue your journey to Lugano on the water. Bursting with grand architecture, chic boutiques and waterside parks, Lugano has lots to see. Visit top sights like the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, explore the Parco Civico, or hit the shops in the streets around Via Nassa. For the second part of your day, you'll head back to Como, an elegant town packed with churches, parks and palaces. Piazza Cavour is a grand square overlooking the lake, a short walk from many of the major highlights such as the Cathedral with its fine interior, the Villa Olmo and the lakeside gardens.

Milan

Milan is where Italy's past and future meet. This most sophisticated of cities is packed with historic monuments and ringed by skyscrapers. On this excursion, you'll enjoy a guided tour to see La Scala opera house, the Sforzesco Castle and its crowning glory – the Duomo cathedral.

St Moritz and Bernina Railway

Separated by a wealth of stunning scenery, the borderlands between Italy and Switzerland are a joy to explore. This trip ticks off the lakeside town of Tirano, as well as the chic Swiss resort of St Moritz, and a ride on the Bernina railway – Europe's highest alpine train and one of the world's most scenic rail routes.Flanked by pine-clad slopes, timber-framed farmsteads and grazing cows, we'll first travel to Tirano. After a quick coffee stop and a look around this lakeside town, it's on to Poschiavo where we'll board the Bernina train. Climbing high through the glacial Alps, there's plenty of time to grab some epic Instagram snaps before reaching Diavolezza.From here, it's just a short bus ride to the famous Swiss ski resort of St Moritz. With around two hours to explore, you can stop to try Swiss cheese and chocolate in a café and enjoy wow-factor views along the Engadine Valley before returning to resort via the spectacular Maloja Pass and Chiavenna.

Lake Maggiore Tour with Isola Bella & Isola dei Pescatori

This tour shines the spotlight on two jewels on Lake Maggiore's crown. On an exclusively-chartered boat cruise, you'll spend time on both Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori, before enjoying some free time in Stresa.You'll head out to Isola Bella first. The islet was completely transformed from a desolate rocky islet in the middle of the lake to a blossoming garden crowned by a baroque palace. Many famous footsteps have graced its shores, from royalty to notable players from the history books. You'll have time here to take in the views from the tiered gardens and walk among its ornate statues.Then, it's on to tiny Isola dei Pescatori – barely 500m long by 100m wide. As the only island that's inhabited year-round, you'll be able to wander among its tiered, narrow alleys lined with plant-bedecked houses. To end the tour, you'll enjoy some free time in Stresa, before your return to Lake Como.
