The inside story
A park that’s three times the size of New York’s Central Park, Amsterdamse Bos is bursting will activities to suit all tastes. Whether that’s a relaxing walk among endless nature trails or zooming along zip lines at the forest climbing park – there’s something for everyone in Amsterdam’s largest recreational park. It’s just a 45-minute journey south of the city too.
Enjoy the park by cycling through the trees among the wildlife. You might even see Scottish highland cows lazing about. If water is your thing, you can hire canoes, kayaks or pedal boats to enjoy lake Grote Vijver. There are two paddling pools for younger children to safely splash about in. Another fun way to see more of the Amsterdamse Bos is by travelling in style on the old museum tram.
