Founded in 1895 as a donation from Rossend Arús, it was situated in the home where he lived. Inside you can observe Arús’ old home, presided over by a replica of New York’s Statue of Liberty, and adapted to accommodate the library with its reading rooms.
The collection currently contains more than 80,000 volumes of books, serial publications, manuscripts, cartography, scores, microfilms and electronic resources, making it a place of reference for students and researchers interested in culture, history and society.
