The inside story
The Museum of the Second World War located in Gdańsk is devoted to WWII. The most important part of the museum is the permanent exhibition which is split into three parts: Road to War, The Horror of War and The Long Shadow of War. These 3 macro areas contain 18 rooms illustrating many aspects of World War II, how it developed, its effects and the suffering it created.
The WWII Museum has a capacity of 1000 visitors, which means that at least 3 hours are necessary to visit it. What makes this museum truly extraordinary is the collection of artefacts, many of them personal effects, donated by private individuals, that really bring the personal tragedies of World War II to life.
