Located in the North of Sweden in the Lapland province, the Abisko National Park was established in 1909 and today spans across 77 sq km or land. And ideal destination for active visitors and those looking to immerse themselves in nature, there is something to do here no matter the season.
In the summer months you can hike along one of the Scandinavian mountain range trails, observe local bird life and enjoy a colorful floral display. The park is also home to one of the biggest lakes in Sweden which is located next to the town of Abisko.
If you are visiting in winter time you will find snow sport opportunities aplenty, from skiing to snowboarding and snowshoeing for those who prefer to slow down the pace. Thanks to a very low light pollution, the park is also a great location to spot the Northern Lights.
