If you've ever wondered how and where the floating, mystical dance of the Whirling Dervishes came to be, then this culture-rich tour will enlighten you. You'll travel to the birthplace of the Mevlevi Order, Konya, to learn all there is to know about the practice, and peek inside the Mevlana Museum before being treated to a performance.
Leaving behind Antalya, you'll drive towards the city of Konya past some breathtaking scenes of the Taurus Mountains. You'll stop along the way for some breakfast so that once you arrive in the heart of Konya, you'll be ready to explore a myriad of cultural and religious sites. Visit the tranquil village of Sille on the outskirts, where Capaddocian Greek was spoken for centuries, as well as the university.
After a walk through Konya and free time for lunch, you'll arrive at the Mevlana Museum, one of the top sites in the city. It's where the 13th century poet and Sufi mystic, Rumi, is buried, and where you'll find out about the Sufi Whirling. Before you leave, there'll be a special performance, too.
