Explore ARTIS Amsterdam Zoo, located just 10 minutes from the city centre on one of Amsterdam's canals. You'll discover newborn elephant calves playing outside, as well as monuments and flower gardens throughout this urban zoo.
Take part in the Elephant Expedition, following foot trails whilst learning about these giants and cracking the elephant code. Imagine yourself in Madagascar at the renovated Kerbertterras (former lion enclosure) and admire how the ring-tailed lemurs, ruffed ruffs, and Madagascar radiated tortoises live together here. Listen to the various stories about the people and animals who stayed at ARTIS during the Second World War and view the buildings and animal enclosures with fresh eyes.
Visit the Planetarium for a journey through space, included with your admission. You'll discover stars and planets whilst marvelling at our place in the universe. Stroll through the city park, admire the architecture and explore the botanical garden before taking a relaxing break at one of the vegetarian restaurants.
