On this day trip, you'll travel from Bangkok in an air-conditioned vehicle and begin the tour in Ayutthaya at Wat Lokayasutha, home to the reclining Buddha and one of the few structures in the area that has remained largely intact.
The visit continues to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, located within the former royal palace complex and once used by the monarchy for ceremonies. This temple is considered the most significant in Ayutthaya.
You'll then head to Wat Mahathat, one of the city's oldest and most historically important temples, formerly home to the Buddha's holy relic. Here, you'll see the well-known Buddha head entwined in the roots of a Bodhi tree.
After the temple visits, you'll enjoy lunch at a local Thai restaurant, where your guide will introduce you to a selection of regional dishes.
The last stop is Wat Chaiwatthanaram. As you explore its spacious grounds, you'll have time to observe its distinctive architectural style, inspired by the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia.
