What to expect

Experience two of Gaudi’s great artistic expressions with a local guide in the vibrant city of Barcelona: Park Güell and the Sagrada Familia.

Park Güell is a wonderland of architectural and artistic experimentation that shows a different side of Antoni Gaudi. Learn from your guide how Art Nouveau influenced its creation and how Gaudi put a new Catalonian twist on the movement. You’ll learn about the Catalan (or timbrel) vault, old craft styles, and the possibilities of iron as a decorative form.

At the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, you’ll experience the amazing facades before entering the church to marvel at its unique interior. Your guide will explain how and why the decoration took its unusual form and reveal the symbolism of its various details.

This is a tour for those who want to understand the wider vision achieved by Gaudi and to see the bigger picture of his architectural legacy.
