Get to know all three with a STEP walking tour. Led by an expert guide, you'll find out what island life, culture and cuisine is like in Boa Vista's colourful capital.
First up is the Centre for Arts and Culture, where you'll find out about the island's folk music – morna. Learn about the history of the Cape Verdean people in the Museum of Naufràgos, then stroll past pastel-coloured houses to the vibrant municipal market. From the lively locals bartering back and forth for the best price, to women washing clothes on the pier, it's a real snapshot of island life.
Next, you'll sample some local delicacies at the oldest standing guest house in town. To finish off the tour, you'll head to Sodade. This early 19th century colonial-style building brings an insight into the island's Portuguese past.
