Join a bear watching hiking tour and discover the beautiful area of the Tatra Mountains!

Experienced bear guides will take you to places with the best chance to spot brown bears. The Tatra Mountains National Park offers many places where you can find them.

After a meet and greet in the morning at village Podbanske, you will start to hike to one of the valleys in the Tatra Mountains. The first possible places to spot will come out in about 60 minutes of hike. From your guides you will learn about the bear territory, footprints and about bear spotting points with the best views, which are situated up in the mountains. Your guide will also teach you names of flowers, berries, mushrooms and trees growing in western Tatra Mountains.

Every tour is different, it always depends on the season and the weather but the chances to spot bears are always high. Seeing them in their territory is always impressive, besides the brown bear you will also have the chance to spot chamois, red deer or foxes.

What to remember

Please wear comfortable waterproof clothing and proper hiking shoes. Hat and gloves are good for cold September and October mornings. Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen in summer
