Budoni

Long sandy beaches, turquoise water, and pine-fringed dunes make Budoni a popular seaside destination on Sardinia’s northeastern coast. Set between San Teodoro and the Gallura region, this relaxed resort is known for its wide shoreline, shallow waters, and easy access to the island’s quieter coastal landscapes. You can spend your days swimming, trying watersports, or exploring nearby coves and nature areas. Away from the beach, traditional villages, local markets, and Sardinian food offer a taste of life beyond the coast. Budoni is a great choice if you want a laid-back beach holiday with plenty of opportunities to get outdoors.

1. Unwind on Budoni’s sandy beaches

Budoni Beach stretches along the coast with pale sand, clear water, and sections backed by pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation. Find a spot to sunbathe, cool off with a swim, or walk along the shoreline with views across the Tyrrhenian Sea. In summer, you’ll also find beach bars and watersports, while the long stretch of sand leaves plenty of room to enjoy the coast at your own pace.

2. Explore the coastline around Budoni

Venture beyond the main beach to discover smaller bays and natural landscapes along Sardinia’s northeastern shore. Head towards Porto Ottiolu for a stroll around the marina, or explore the wetlands and coastal vegetation around the Stagno di San Teodoro, where birdlife gathers in the lagoon environment. Boat trips and kayaking are also good ways to see the coastline from the water.

3. Experience Sardinian life and cuisine

Take a break from the beach to explore Budoni’s town centre and nearby villages, where local traditions remain part of everyday life. Browse seasonal markets, visit small shops, or head inland for a glimpse of Sardinia’s rural landscapes. At the table, look out for regional specialities such as culurgiones pasta, roast suckling pig, pecorino cheese, and local wines.
