Calabria and food go together like sun, sea and sand. So what better way to discover the region than through its cuisine? In a beautiful country setting, you'll visit a cookery school and learn to cook like a local as well as visit a mill.
You'll start with a journey into the countryside. First up is a visit to a local company, where you'll learn how a typical Calabrian product is made, whether that's sundried tomatoes or Tropea red onion jam, depending on the season. Then it's on to an 18th century mill. Powered by an unpolluted valley stream, it's still used to make flour today.
And rounding off the day is the cooking lesson. A barbecue feast of vegetables is on the menu, too. What's more, you'll get to dine on all your creations while washing it down with local wines. You'll even be able to dance a tarantella, a traditional Calabrian jig.
