Wine-growing regions often have a natural scenic beauty inherent in them. On this wine tour, you can experience the Rheingau region with the Balthasar Ress winery, one of the top companies in Germany and has been a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wineries). The winery was successfully certified organic and has since been one of the largest organic wineries in Hesse.
After a champagne reception in the house, you'll start a hike through the district of Hattenheim. On the way, you'll taste various wines in the place where they were produced.
You'll combine a hike of 1.5 hours to reach the Nussbrunnen – one of the prime pieces in the Balthasar Ress vineyard portfolio – with a small wine tasting including local wines. In the nut fountain, you have a view of the Rhine Valley and can see prominent points such as Johannisberg Castle, Vollrads Castle and the Niederwal Monument.
As part of the hike, in addition to the sparkling wine upon arrival, you'll taste 3 other Rieslings, 2 of them from the VDP.Grosse Lage Nussbrunnen. The hike and the wine tasting are led by experienced and knowledgeable wine experts.
