This three-day cruise combines the limestone scenery of Lan Ha Bay and Ha Long Bay with kayaking, island villages and plenty of time to slow the pace. From hidden lagoons and floating fishing communities to quiet beaches and sunset views from the deck, this trip balances easygoing adventure with laidback moments on the water. With all meals included and overnight stays on board, you’ll experience some of northern Vietnam’s most striking coastal landscapes in comfort.
Day one begins with the journey from Hanoi to Cat Ba Island, where you’ll board your boat and set sail through Lan Ha Bay. Cruising past Cai Beo Floating Village and dramatic limestone karsts, there’s time to settle in before sitting down to a freshly prepared Vietnamese lunch on board. Later, hop into a kayak to paddle through the lagoons and caves of the Three Tunnels area, where steep cliffs, calm waters and hidden corners make this one of the bay’s standout spots. There’s also the chance to swim at Ba Trai Dao Beach before visiting a floating fish farm and joining a Vietnamese cooking class as the sun begins to set. After dinner, you can paddle out beneath the night sky to spot glowing bioluminescent plankton before arriving at Viet Hai Village.
Rise and shine on day two with breakfast on board before cycling through the peaceful scenery of Viet Hai Village, tucked away on Cat Ba Island. After returning to the boat, the cruise continues towards Monkey Island, where you can relax on the beach, swim in the bay or hike for sweeping views across the limestone peaks. Later, there’s more time for kayaking or unwinding by the water before dinner is served on board. Spending the night surrounded by the quiet scenery of the bay is the real highlight of this trip.
On day three, ease into the morning with breakfast on deck as the boat cruises through more remote caves and rocky islets. After one last look across the emerald waters of the bay, you’ll return to the harbour before making your journey back to Hanoi or continuing your travels through Vietnam.
