The inside story
Hidden along Ibiza’s rugged northern coastline, the Can Marçà Caves offer a glimpse into a hidden underground world shaped over thousands of years. Once used by smugglers as a hideout and to traffic goods along the cliffs, these natural caves now invite you to admire dramatic rock formations, winding tunnels and viewpoints carved into the cliffside overlooking the Mediterranean.
Follow guided routes through the caves as light and sound effects bring the underground chambers to life, highlighting stalactites, stalagmites and ancient geological layers. Along the way, you’ll also reach the old lookout point, where smugglers once watched for approaching boats and where you can now take in eye-catching views of the sea. And, if you look closely, you’ll still see marks used by smugglers to identify hidden entry points. The Can Marçà Caves are a great way to get to know one of Ibiza’s most atmospheric natural attractions, where history and geology meet high above the sea.
