Things to do in Katakolo

Katakolo is a seaside town in the municipality of Pyrgos, Greece, overlooking the Ionian Sea.

The port of the city is a famous stop for cruise ships, where you can easily reach the archaeological site of ancient Olympia. Among the many highlights that you can visit and admire, you can find the ancient sunken city of Pheia, the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology, an historic lighthouse, which dated back to 1865, and Pontikokastro, a Byzantine castle on the ancient Acropolis of Fia, built by the Franks in the 13th century.
