Kos - Kalymnos and Telendos Island tour from Kos
Kalymnos is an island of rugged beauty that's a short boat trip from Kos. On this excursion, you'll sail over and spend the day exploring its highlights. Hop on a bus to visit the villages of Masouri and Mirties for top-notch beaches, then head over to Telendos island before swinging by the capital, Pothia on your way back.From Mastihari, you'll catch the ferry to Kalymnos, passing islands on either side. Arriving at the port, you'll meet the bus and head to Masouri first. You'll have an hour and a half to admire the limestone cliffs that make it popular with climbers and wander the colourful cafes and sandy beaches. Then it's on to Mirties, where the island's best beaches await – they're especially popular with families for swimming. A small boat will then take you across to car-free Telendos, a giant rock that rises out of the Aegean. Enjoy two hours of free time here for swimming, sunbathing and grabbing lunch in one of the seafront tavernas with epic views of Kalymnos. On your way back to Kalymnos port, you'll stop at Pothia. The colourful houses, arranged in the style of an amphitheatre are sure to impress at the entrance to the traditional harbour. You'll learn about sponge diving at a family-owned business – something the island is famed for. What's more, you can poke around a naval museum, which focuses on the island's maritime history. Then enjoy the views on the ferry journey back to Kos.

We are a nation of boatbuilders and fishermen, and even though many Kaiki boats are now used for tourism, look out for them still being used for fishing.'Sun, sea and swimming – a trio of things that make being on holiday so special. Your journey will take you across to the tiny isle of Nera, home to a single house and a handful of deserted coves. Sailing onwards to Kalymnos island, you'll reach the shores around Vlyxadia where you'll be able to cool off in the Aegean and try your hand at snorkelling if you're in the mood. The waters here are calm and clear – and if you're lucky, you may be able to spot the dolphin and sea turtles that call the area home.You'll have free time to make the most of the great swimming spots, top up your tan on deck, or see what you can spot underwater. By lunchtime, you'll be ready for a freshly prepared lunch made with locally sourced ingredients.
