Take a journey through Montenegro's inspiring countryside, from the comfort of your seat. Heading south from Kotor the scenery is so unusual and strikingly beautiful that Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw famously quipped "Am I in paradise or on the moon?". On top of its beauty, this region is also famed for smoked ham and flavourful cheeses, which you will sample during your first stop in the village of Njegusi. Perched more than a half mile up Mount Lovren, the village affords absolutely phenomenal views of the surrounding mountains. Leaving Njegusi behind, you'll follow another picturesque road that hugs the edge of a national park. Then drive through Cetinje, once the royal capital of Montenegro. Lying in a green valley at the foot of Mount Lovcen, Cetinje was founded in the 15th century and soon became the country's religious centre. Heading back to the coast, you will pass the medieval port of Budva. With its red tile-roofed buildings and idyllic setting on an island-dotted bay, English poet Lord Bryon described it as "the most beautiful meeting of land and sea.
