Three of ancient Iona's most important archaeological sites lie conveniently within a 25km radius. First up is Priene, located on the slopes of Mt Mycale with views over the River Meander below. Explore its Temple of Athena, the assembly house and theatre. Next, head to the Didyma sanctuary archaeological site, whose Temple of Apollo was one of the marvels of the ancient world. After lunch in Didyma, we'll move on to the ancient city of Miletus. It is home to the well-preserved 15,000-seat theatre as well as the ruins of a stadium.
