Hawkshead is a village of cobbled alleys, characterful squares and whitewashed houses in the valley between Windermere and Coniston. It is home to the Old Grammar School, founded in 1585, where the famous Lake District poet, William Wordsworth, studied.You will see incredible scenery as you venture into the heart of the Lake District from Hawkshead, with plenty of photo stops along the way. Visit the Langdale Valley and Blea Tarn, a beautiful body of water.Arrive in Waterhead and board a boat for a scenic cruise across Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England. - Please do not wait to meet a guide at London Euston train station as we do not conduct in-person departures. You will meet your guide upon arrival in Oxenholme (Lake District), meeting point instructions will be sent via email 7 days before your departure.
- Outbound: Train departs London Euston: 08:30 / arrives Oxenholme: 11:08
- Return: Train departs Oxenholme: 18:30 (18:26 Sat) / arrives at London Euston at 21:20
