Your tour begins with a stop at the Machico viewpoint, where the first navigators set foot, and at the Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula. Next, you'll travel to Porto da Cruz, a parish located on the north coast of the island. Here, you'll pause at the Engenhos do Norte rum factory, which is a living testament to Madeira Island's prosperous history of sugar production. Next, your tour will take you to Santana, which is renowned for its thatched houses — a traditional emblem of the island.
After the lunch break, weather permitting, you'll head up to Ribeiro Frio, passing by a trout farm on the way. From there, you'll ascend to Pico do Arieiro, the island's third-highest peak, standing at 1,818 metres above sea level. This vantage point offers an opportunity to take in the grandeur of the mountainous landscape.
Enjoy your trip!
