On day 1 you'll depart Quito for a scenic drive through the Andean countryside to Zuleta. Meet a local guide and experience community life with a walk through the village and a visit to an artisan’s home for a hands-on embroidery workshop, where you’ll create your own piece. Enjoy a traditional three-course lunch made with local ingredients. In the afternoon, visit Casa Museo Karangue to explore ancestral heritage, traditional construction, archaeological artefacts, and take part in an adobe-making activity. End the day with an overnight stay at a historic hacienda surrounded by the Andes. Overnight in Otavalo.
On day 2 you'll visit the stunning Cuicocha crater lake for a guided walk with panoramic views and insights into its volcanic and cultural significance. Continue to an Andean instrument workshop to learn about traditional music and enjoy a live performance. Explore Plaza de los Ponchos, South America’s most famous indigenous market, filled with textiles and handicrafts. Finally, after a traditional lunch, you'll return to Quito.
