Visit the archaeological site of Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most preserved sites in the world, and enjoy the bus tour to Mount Vesuvius that will complete this fantastic experience.
You'll begin the journey by reaching Campania to discover the ancient city of Herculaneum, one of the best-kept ancient cities in the world. Located on a volcanic plateau, overlooking the sea, Herculaneum was buried by ash after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, but unlike the nearby site of Pompeii, much of the city has been preserved: roofs, beds, doors, food, and even 300 skeletons. Even in summer, you'll find shelter from the sun during your visit thanks to the shaded areas offered during the day by the sheer cliffs surrounding the excavations.
In the early afternoon, you'll join the fantastic panoramic tour aboard the Hop-on Hop-off Bus to Mount Vesuvius, from which you'll enjoy breathtaking views, before returning to Rome.
