Samiopoula Trip

Samiopoula Trip

Holidays are about getting away from it all. And this morning cruise does just that. Sailing out of Pythagorion, you'll pass secluded beaches and coves. Whilst being served refreshments by the crew, you may even be lucky enough to spot a dolphin or two. Then, you'll relax until we drop anchor at Samiopoula. Home to more goats than people, it's the definition of remote. Spend time here exploring the islands unspoiled landscape, its lone church, or enjoying a dip in the Aegean. The water here is calm and clear so expect to see plenty of fish. And cruising back to shore at a leisurely pace, you'll have time to catch a few more rays on deck.

Patmos Island boat trip
Excursions & day trips

Patmos Island boat trip

It takes something special for one small island to stand out among the thousands in Greece – but it's an accolade that Patmos well deserves. The fun kicks off with a 2.5-hour ferry ride across the Aegean to the quaint, yet lively, port of Skala on the east coast. Its waterfront is lined with peeling tavernas, café terraces, seafood restaurants and shops. Patmos is very narrow at this point and a 10-minute walk to the west is the pebbly Hohlakas beach. If you're looking for some history, then the trek to hilltop Hora just 3km from Skala is a must.

Discover Patmos

The sands of time have barely swept over Patmos since St John had his Revelations here 2,000 years ago – which makes a daytrip to the isle such a fascinating experience. Stepping off the boat, you'll be struck by the turreted walls of the Monastery of St John. Your guide will explain its fascinating history before we head through the whitewashed streets of Chora to visit the Cave of the Apocalypse. And there's more to this trip than history and heritage – you'll have plenty of free time to relax and wander around the charming surrounds of Skala harbour before sailing back to Samos.
