From your Hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, head to the Toconao village, towards the Jerez Canyon (Quebrada de Jerez) where you'll be able to see the flora and fauna of this beautiful Valley, located at an altitude of 2475m. Once in Toconao, we'll stop at the San Lucas Church, made of mud and straw with its typical tower bell. We'll visit the local handicraft fair, very popular for its Alpaca wool and creative crafts made of cactus or volcanic stone.
Your journey will continue to the fabulous Atacama Salt Flat, the largest in Chile and one of the 5 largest in the world. Continue along a small path to the Chaxa Lagoon, where we'll see different species of pink flamingos; this place is a protected flamingo breeding reservoir and declared a National Reserve.
Finally, looking towards the Andes enjoy a colorful sunset bringing you to the end of your tour.
