Sighișoara

Sighisoara and its UNESCO-protected historic center is a must-see when traveling in Romania. Situated in the heart of Transylvania, this 16th-century city is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe.

Commonly remembered as the birthplace of Vlad Dracula, also known as Vlad Tepes, his house is just one of the many attractions located here. Then hike to its hilltop to explore the third-largest church in the region containing 500-year-old frescoes.
