Hear ye', hear ye'! Welcome to the "3 P's" of Stockholm: palaces, priests and pomp! Spend the day strolling through the city like true royalty at the grand Royal Palace, with the priests of the Stockholm Cathedral and the pomp of the Vasa warship at the Vasa Museum. This tour includes the magnificent island city districts of the Old Town and Djurgården as well as a scenic ferry ride through the eastern part of the city center.
Step into the King’s official residence and former home - The Royal Palace of Stockholm. The State Apartments, where royals have welcomed DJs, Nobel Laureates and foreign dignitaries throughout the centuries. In the neighboring guest apartments, visiting world leaders rest their heads during state visits to the city. After you make your royal exit, you will continue over the cobblestoned courtyard to the Stockholm Cathedral, noted not only as the location where Sweden's Parliament opens annually but also a place of opportunity. This is where a gym owner became a prince after all!
Continuing on the regal theme, you will board the royal vessel (maybe not royal by name, but it takes you to a royal destination) to the lush island of Djurgården. Part of the Royal National City Park, there are many museums located on the island, including the home of the grandest warship in the Swedish Royal Navy of the 1600s - the Vasa Museum. Two gun decks, 64 canons, and over 400 workers employed… the Vasa took two years to build but only sailed for 20 minutes. You can imagine the King's delight!
By the end of the tour, you'll check off the three royal p's and pride yourself for having given tribute to all things royal in Stockholm. Can you hear the 21-gun salute in the distance?!
