After the pickup, you'll reach Puerto de los Cristianos in Tenerife and take the ferry to San Sebastián de La Gomera, the capital of La Gomera island. There you'll get on the bus to visit your first stop: the Hermigua Valley. You'll pass through La Palmita and arrive at the hamlet of Las Rosas, in Agulo. There you'll have time to have lunch in a typical restaurant and, if availability allows it, to see a live demonstration of the Gomeran whistle. On the way back, you'll stop to admire the imposing Roque de Agando, an impressive and steep formation of volcanic lava.

North West Tenerife Hidden Secrets Guided Tour with Transport

It's one pretty village after another on this exclusive tour in the rugged northwest of Tenerife. We'll drop in at a roll call of the island's must-visits. Christian, one of our local experts, says, ‘A guide shows you around the park in Icod de los Vinos and gives you the lowdown on its fascinating dragon tree, which is 20 metres tall.' Santiago del Teide, local speciality tasting and a trip to Teno Rural Park are also part of the line-up.First up is a pit stop in Santiago del Teide, a highland village of whitewashed homes. Then, in Icod de Los Vinos, you'll see up-close its centuries-old dragon tree. You'll also have free time to have a gander around the town. Garachico is next. Devastated by a 1706 volcanic eruption and rebuilt on its lava, it's been dubbed the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' place on the island. Its natural lava pools, guarded by a volcanic rock castle, draw bathers from all over the island. When it's time to take a break, there's a tasty local lunch, served in a family-run restaurant in a traditional finca. The afternoon sees you exploring the craggy peaks of Teno Rural Park. It's famed for its biodiversity but also serves as the larder for most of Tenerife's top-quality natural produce. You'll even get to try some locally made marmalades and jams, all produced with a minimum carbon footprint. Finally, round off the day in the ‘lost hamlet' of Masca. Precariously perched on a ridge overlooking a valley, it's one of Tenerife's most eye-catching spots.

As you wander its cobbled streets, your National Geographic-trained guide will unveil the tale of its port—a vital hub for exporting wine to Europe and America, tragically altered by a volcanic eruption. Next, venture to Viñátigo Winery, a family-run estate celebrated for rescuing Tenerife's native grape varieties from near extinction. Meet the passionate owner and local winemaker amidst sprawling vineyards, where you'll learn about diverse grape species and their eco-friendly and organic agricultural methods. Experience their meticulous wine-making process before sampling a selection of their finest wines, guided by an on-site expert. Continue your wine odyssey at Bodegas El Sitio in Tacoronte, a pioneering, eco-conscious winery known as the Canaries' first energy-self-sufficient bodega. Discover their sustainable grape-growing practices from a knowledgeable guide, highlighting the natural methods that produce their distinctive and flavorful wines. Wrap up your day with a delightful spread of authentic Canarian tapas amidst the stunning vineyard scenery, immersing yourself in the eye-catching vistas of the surrounding landscape and the Atlantic Ocean serving as your backdrop.
