Discover the history and traditions of Sicilian salt production on a tour divided into two fascinating parts. Begin with a guided visit to the Salt Museum and an ancient 15th-century windmill, where the traditional stages of salt harvesting are explained alongside the story of the family that has managed the salt pans for generations. The experience continues with a walk along the perimeter of the salt pans, following the edges of the salt basins through a unique landscape shaped by salt, seawater, clay and shimmering reflections of light. Located within a WWF Nature Reserve, the route provides the opportunity to observe the natural process through which seawater is gradually transformed into salt and to learn about the different stages of its formation.
