About Encountering the humpback whales on 24-foot Zodiac boats is an amazing experience and especially so at sunset! Enjoy these majestic animals during a lovely tropical sunset. Your naturalist captain will explain the whale’s behaviors and get as close to them as possible and hydrophones will be provided on board for the participants to listen to the beautiful whale song. Zodiac rafts are known worldwide as the perfect vessel to observe marine life. The fast-moving Zodiacs get into viewing position quickly and provide an exhilarating and fun ride. The small group atmosphere of the expedition allows for a personal and intimate tour. The rafts are only a few feet off the water and everyone has a front-row seat on 16 passenger Zodiac. You will sight dolphins and other marine life during the expedition and as time allows you may take up close to see the sea caves, lava tubes, and rugged coastline.

- For whale watchers, please wear comfortable clothing
- No persons with back/neck problems, pregnant ladies or persons whom have had any recent major surgeries are permitted
- It is recommend to wearing swimsuit, bring your own camera, towel, light cover-up/sweater, sun protection, hats, sunglasses, reuseable water bottle
- Please note that it is now mandatory to use only reef safe sun protection in Kealakekua Bay. Always check the ingredients list when purchasing sunscreen, the only active ingredients should be zinc oxide or titanium dioxide
- There is free public parking in front of Captain Zodiac Snorkeling and Whale Watching tour office (the meeting point)
- Check-in time: Tour departs at 08:00am: check-in time is 07:45am and tour departs at 11:45am: check-in time is 11:30am. For Sunset Adventure departs at 03:30pm and check-in time is 03:15pm
