What to expect

Enjoy a traditional British afternoon tea under the beautiful roof of the Great Court Restaurant in the British Museum. The British Museum is home to a wide collection of interesting artefacts from all over the world and a special location for your delicious afternoon treat.

Seated under the famous glass roof of the museum you can choose your tea from a selection of organic loose leaf teas and delicate flowering teas. You will receive some tasty traditional delicacies to make the afternoon tea complete.

Start with trying finger sandwiches with Wilshire ham and farmhouse chutney, smoked salmon and cream cheese, Coronation chicken and celery and egg mayo and mustard cress. Then you’ll get to indulge
with a delicious variety of macaroons, chocolate Jaffa cake, meringue torte and more.

If you want to make your afternoon tea experience even better, add a nice glass of prosecco to your afternoon tea (extra option).

  • If you wish to include a glass of prosecco, you can choose this option during booking
  • A minimum age of 16 years is required for this tour, for the afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco the minimum age is 18
  • This tour has a maximum of 6 people per booking, if you would like to book for more people please make another booking under a new name
  • Remember that afternoon tea is only served from 3pm - 4.30pm, the kitchen closes at 5.00pm. Anyone arriving after that time will not be able to receive Afternoon Tea
