The tour will start with a visit to William Shakespeare’s iconic Globe Theatre. Your expert guide will bring this extraordinary open-air theatre to life with colorful stories of the 1599 Globe, the reconstruction process in the 1990s, and how the building works today as an imaginative and experimental theatre space. Take a seat ‘within this wooden ‘O’’ – listen, absorb and ask questions as the secrets of the Globe unfold.

Following your tour, eat your way through an enchanting afternoon tea at Swan at the Globe, the theatre's onsite bar and restaurant. The Swan’s beautiful dining room overlooks St. Paul’s Cathedral and the majestic River Thames. Take in the stunning views of London whilst enjoying a selection of finger sandwiches, warm scones and sweet delicacies.

Please arrive at the entrance to Shakespeare's Globe at the Groundling Gates on Bankside where a staff member will be there to greet you at an outdoor information pod.

What to remember

As this is a working theatre, tour times vary due to performance schedules or sometimes take place during rehearsals (giving you an exclusive look at the rehearsal process!)
Guided tours are in English, however, free information sheets are available in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese
There is no dress code for the tour or the afternoon tea, but appropriate clothing and footwear are recommended as tours take place outdoors
There is a maximum of 6 people per tour
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure
