To start, you’ll follow your guide to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, a modern art museum that’s rooted on the bank of Venice’s Grand Canal. Here, you’ll hear all about Peggy’s life as you wander around the exhibits, which are stacked with works by big names like Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock and Max Ernst – the latter was her husband. The museum’s in Venice’s Dorsoduro Sestiere, a district that’s known for its artistic flair. When you’re finished in the museum, it’s time to see more of this part of the city.
Sticking with the colourful theme of the tour, the district’s art mile is in the spotlight. You’ll follow your guide along the route, which weaves past eight art museums within Venice that showcase pieces from eight different centuries, including the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
