Set along the tranquil coastline of Candidasa, this experience combines relaxation with direct involvement in marine conservation through a hands-on coral restoration programme. It is suited to nature lovers, eco-conscious travellers and snorkelling enthusiasts, and includes time in the clear waters of the Blue Lagoon, an introduction to coral ecosystems, and cultural insight into the Bali Aga community of Tenganan Village.
The journey begins with hotel pick-up from South Bali, Ubud or Candidasa and a transfer to Padangbai. On arrival, guests are welcomed at Livingseas and take a short boat ride to a coral pontoon anchored above Bali’s largest coral restoration site. After an introduction to reef conservation, participants attach coral fragments to metal reef stars, contributing to reef regeneration. Snorkelling follows, offering the chance to observe marine life as the reef stars are installed on the seabed. Lunch is then served at Wholesome Hub before transferring to Candidasa for hotel check-in.
On the second day, after breakfast, the programme continues with a visit to Tenganan Village, one of Bali’s oldest settlements and home to the Bali Aga, the island’s original inhabitants. Known for preserving ancestral traditions, architecture and communal practices, the village offers insight into local customs, social organisation and daily life. The experience concludes with a transfer back to hotels in South Bali or Ubud, or onward to Denpasar Airport.
