The Gulf of Orosei stretches along Sardinia’s rugged east coast, where limestone cliffs, hidden coves and clear Mediterranean waters create one of the island’s most scenic coastal areas. The coastline forms part of the Supramonte region, with many beaches and sea caves only accessible by boat or along hiking trails.
You can explore the gulf by boat, stopping at famous coves such as Cala Luna, Cala Mariolu and Cala Goloritzé for swimming and snorkelling. The area is also popular with hikers, with trails leading through the dramatic landscape and down towards secluded beaches. Cala Goloritzé is known for its distinctive limestone pinnacle, which rises above the beach and has become one of Sardinia’s most recognisable natural landmarks.
