Escape Dublin for a day and discover the stunning landscapes of Glendalough and Powerscourt.
Your first stop is Glendalough, the "Valley of the Two Lakes," one of Ireland’s most beautiful natural and historical sites. Founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin, this ancient monastic settlement is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Accompanied by your Spanish-speaking guide, you will learn about the history, legends, and traditions of the valley while exploring the monastery, its ancient cemetery, the famous Celtic Cross of St. Kevin, and the impressive 34-metre round tower.
You will then enjoy a scenic walk through woodland trails towards the Upper Lake, passing through landscapes featured in the TV series Vikings. The route continues along the Green Road to the Lower Lake, offering spectacular views of the glacial valley and its tranquil waters.
The next stop is Powerscourt Estate, one of Ireland’s finest country estates. You will have free time to explore its renowned gardens, inspired by Italian and Japanese designs, discover the pet cemetery, admire the Triton Lake and Dolphin Pond, and climb the Pepperpot Tower for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
In the afternoon, there may be an optional stop at the famous Johnnie Fox’s Pub, one of Ireland’s unique and traditional pubs, where you can enjoy lunch and experience its distinctive atmosphere. Alternatively, there will be opportunities to eat at Powerscourt or enjoy a picnic.
