With this bike tour, you'll be pedaling close to heaven! Discover Italy's most famous plateau, the plain of Campo Imperatore or Little Tibet, which will welcome you with its amazing colors, herds of horses, cows and flocks of sheep.
Located between 1500 and 2000 m asl, this area offers breathtaking mountain views ranging from the mountains Camicia and Prena on one side to the Bolza and Mesola on the other, which include the central Gran Sasso massif with the two highest peaks in Abruzzo, the Corno Grande and Piccolo.
Enjoy this wonderful scenery on your way to the remains of the Cistercian convent of Santa Maria del Monte (1616 m), which dominates the landscape between the Racollo and Passaneta lakes and the Barisciano lake in the distance. Take in the spectacular panorama from this fascinating location before you make your way back.
