From 13 March to 12 July 2019 Palazzo Reale hosts "Il meraviglioso mondo della natura. Una favola fra arte, mito e scienza", a retrospective involving the viewer at 360 degrees thanks to its special set-up, enriched with videos and suggestive projections.
On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo's death, the exhibition focuses on the representation of nature from the fifteenth to the seventeenth century in Lombardy, and how Da Vinci influenced it.
The heart of the event is the reconstruction of one of the most fascinating figurative complexes of the seventeenth century in northern Italy: il Ciclo di Orfeo, a complex of 23 canvases, interacts with more than 160 specimens of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish coming from the Natural History Museum and Milan's Aquarium, as well as from the MUSE of Trento.
