You'll spend three hours getting to know Le Marais through its food, history and art on a small-group walking tour with a local guide. Walk along cobbled streets and through squares and tucked-away courtyards as you learn how this former royal neighbourhood became one of Paris's creative and multicultural districts.
Begin near Place des Vosges, where you'll hear about the aristocrats who once lived in the area and enjoy a freshly baked French pastry. Then, head towards the historic Jewish Quarter. Around Rue des Rosiers, discover the neighbourhood's Jewish heritage while tasting a warm, crispy falafel.
Along the way, sample French culinary classics including regional cheeses with baguette, artisanal charcuterie and sweet specialities. You'll also taste handmade chocolate and a contemporary pastry as your guide shares more about the traditions and artisans behind them. There are seven tastings in total, with stops selected according to local availability.
The final stop is a wine bar or cellar, where you'll pair a glass of French wine with cheese and learn about the idea of terroir. It's also a chance to share your favourite moments from the tour. With a maximum of eight guests, the tour offers an introduction to Parisian food culture.
