The Egyptian Museum is one of the most visited museums in Italy - and well worth the trip to Turin! With over 30.000 artifacts distributed on four floors, its collection of Egyptian antiquities is one of the largest in the world and the most important of its kind after the Museum of Cairo.
The museum's rich collections have been studied by many renowned scholars from all over the world since the 19th century; among them, the decipherer of Egyptian hieroglyphs Jean-François Champollion, who wrote that "the road to Memphis and Thebes passes through Turin".
