Nestled in the heart of the Alps, this little island and lake have been flying under the radar for centuries. The star of every postcard, lake Bled enchants with idyllic scenery, rich history and crèam cake.

Not far from Bled, lies Radovljica, the municipal center of the region. It is buzzing with beekeeping tradition, gingerbread and chocolate. All the honey is used up for “lectarstvo”, a traditional regional craft of gingerbread. Biscuits were once regarded as tokens of affection, where now they make for precious souvenirs.
