This self-guided audio walking tour explores Dublin's Docklands along the River Liffey, following the route from the Custom House to Grand Canal Dock. Led by local guide Jack Redmond, it traces more than 200 years of change in one of the city's most dynamic districts.
As you walk, you'll pass key landmarks including the Custom House, the Famine Memorial and the Jeanie Johnston, a replica of the ship that carried emigrants to North America. Along the route, the tour highlights both Dublin's Georgian past, when the city was one of the most important in the British Empire, and its more recent transformation.
The experience also looks at the modern Docklands, where historic warehouses sit alongside contemporary architecture such as the Convention Centre. Smaller details along the way include sites linked to U2, a historic diving bell and local tributes that reflect the area's global connections.
The tour is fully self-guided, using GPS to navigate the route and automatically trigger audio. With offline playback, you can explore at your own pace while following the River Liffey from start to finish.
